How do I secure a portrait session with you?
It's super easy! All you have to do is contact me with the date you're interested in and I'll get you all set up. I do require a 25% retainer to secure the date.
How would you describe your style?
I like to take a natural approach to my portraits. While I do pose my clients, I do so in a way that doesn't feel forced or non-genuine. I want you to have fun and enjoy your session. As for my editing techniques, I love bright and well-lit photographs full of color.
How many people are allowed in a portrait session?
That depends on the portrait package you choose. I will always discuss this with you before booking the session.
What happens if it rains or someone gets sick?
Life happens, and that's alright. If you have an outdoor session booked, you can always reschedule for another day. As for people getting sick, etc., we can definitely reschedule. Having everyone healthy is important to having a successful session.
Will you travel outside of your service area?
Depending on my scheduling, I have no problem traveling. If it's a drivable distance, I charge a per-mile fee.
How do payments work?
To book and lock in your session date, I require a 25% non-refundable retainer. You can do this as far in advance as you like. The remaining 75% must be paid the day of the session. You can pay that 75% in one lump sum or send it in smaller increments over time -- whatever is easiest for you. I accept credit cards or cash. * If you have to reschedule due to weather or illness your retainer will transfer to that appointment.
What happens if my child freaks out?
This is a completely normal fear and I get it. I have a grown daughter who has Autism and ADHD, I understand 100% what you are going through. Kids are unpredictable and sometimes a temper tantrum or meltdown is inevitable. When this happens, we will simply take a little break, allow you to calm your child down by talking/feeding/playing and then take the appropriate steps to easing back into the session. I will never force photos or send you on your way. That's a promise! If it seems the photo session is just not going to work out that day I will reschedule 1 time at no extra cost. * Your non-refundable retainer will transfer to the new session 1 time as well.
Can I share the photos on social media?
Of course. We love it when people share our photographs. We just ask that you don't crop out our logo, edit the photos in any way (no filters), and that you tag our Facebook page when possible.
Do you do mini sessions?
Therapy for the Soul Photography hosts several limited edition sessions throughout the year and we'd love to have you sign up for one! We typically do holiday limited edition sessions, which make for great holiday greeting cards. Stay up to date by subscribing to our email list or "following" us on Facebook.
Do You Give Discounts for Referrals?
I do! If you send a client my way and they book a session, I'll provide you with either a $50 printing credit or 20% off your next session package, including limited edition sessions.
What should I wear to my session?
Ultimately, what you wear depends on what you're most confident in. If you are unsure about what's most flattering or what will go best with your location setting, don't hesitate to reach out and connect. I have lots of ideas!
Do I have control over what images you share?
Of course. No matter what session I'm photographing, I will always make sure that you have a say in whether or not I post to social media or my website. * If you are doing a model call session then you have already agreed to allow me to share all the images on social media and my website.
Will you come to my home?
Definitely! While most of my sessions take place on-location, I can always take photographs at your house. This option is particularly popular with newborn photos, pet portraits and sometimes family sessions. Do note that I prefer to photograph in a room that's extremely well lit with natural light.
How far in advance should I schedule my session?
This, of course, depends on the session type. For example, engagement session photos should be taken with enough time to get your photos back so that save-the-dates and/or invitations are sent out in a timely matter. Other than that, when you book is up to you!
How long does it take for me to get my photos?
The waiting game is never any fun. I am just as excited for you to see your photos as you are. For that reason, I work quickly to get your photos to you. For larger events where lots of pictures are taken can take up to one month. For smaller sessions, I typically have sneak peaks up in 24-hours and the rest of the images to you in a week. If you need your photos within 24-hours I offer rush editing as an add on purchase.
What kinds of products do you offer?
I offer a whole slew of prints and products, not limited to gift and wall prints, gallery wraps, fabric and leather bound albums, invitations, cards and more. Let me know what you are looking for and I will make it happen.
How many outfit and location changes can I have?
I never limit your outfit or location changes. All I ask is that you keep in mind that the time it takes for you to change or for us to move to another location does count toward your session time. If you have a larger family or are planning for more changes, it's probably best to choose a session with a higher time allotment. If you're unsure about which package is best for you, feel free to ask!
